Stramash Social Enterprise has been offering fantastic adventure holidays for young people since 2004.
Our highly experienced and qualified instruction team are able to provide activities suitable for all age groups and abilities. We offer everything from day courses through to residential adventure trips which will include wild camping, surely one of the most rewarding outdoor experiences you can have. Discover new places, meet new friends and above all have a fun packed holiday with Stramash that will leave you counting the days until your next Stramash adventure.
New for summer 2010 Stramash are hosting exciting day and evening adventures in sea kayaking, gorge scrambling, canyoning, canoeing and coasteering in the Oban area. These could be just what the doctor ordered if you don’t have the time for a full adventure, find out more…
You can book online.
At the bottom of every course description there is a button,
click this and you will be taken to the booking form. When completed you need to download, print and complete the Booking/Consent form and return it to us with your cheque made payable to Stramash for payment.
If you have any problems, please contact us on 01631 566080 or send us a message
Although we update our course availability daily, occasionally a course may already be fully booked. Should this occur, we will contact you immediately to discuss alternatives.
You don’t need any specialist clothing or equipment for our courses. Coming on your own? Not a problem. Lots of people come on our courses not knowing anyone else. You’ll soon get to know everyone and the instructors will make sure you feel part of the group. Residential courses include all in-course transport, food and accommodation, so you don’t need extra money.
Safety is a key element of all the courses we offer. Stramash vet their coaches, instructors and volunteers before allowing them to work on the courses. Each person working on a course has an Enhanced Disclosure check carried out. All the activities are risk assessed and are carried out by qualified and experienced people. In addition, Stramash has been licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service to run activities.
Travel safety is a big concern for Stramash. That is why all our minibuses are serviced regularly, all our drivers are over 21 years old and have undergone a minibus test and all our minibuses have individual seatbelts fitted to each seat. The wearing of seatbelts in our minibuses is compulsory.
In 2006 Stramash won three Excellence Awards including the BEST RURAL AREA AWARD and in 2008 the programme won the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (CoSLA) Excellence Award for the BEST HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME in Scotland and was a finalist in the APSE Outstanding Achievements Sport Leisure and Culture Award.
On our residential trips we will teach you about the environment you are in and your responsibilities to it. You will learn about relationships with, and responsibilities towards, other people. And you will also learn about yourself. Our group sizes are also kept to a minimum so as to maximise the experience for everyone. Stramash takes its responsibility towards people and the environment extremely seriously.
We will therefore be taking a minimal impact approach and adopting the Leave No Trace ethos on our expeditions.
As part of our social responsibility, we have sourced many products with the FAIRTRADE Mark which will be used on our trips. Menus are designed to promote healthy eating.
As part of our environmental responsibility, we promote the John Muir Award which supports the discovery, exploration and protection of wild places. Stramash has at its core the responsible stewardship of our outdoor environment and seeks to educate our clients in outdoor access, conservation and use as well as imparting skills in outdoor activity.
If your child has a disability please contact us so we can discuss the suitability of activities. We do need reasonable notice to give us time to make the necessary arrangements.
Once we receive your online booking your place will be pending until full payment is received.
Once we receive your consent form and full payment we will confirm receipt of your payment and confirm your place by email.
If there are no spaces left on your chosen course we will contact you and offer an alternative where available.
Two weeks prior to the course start date you will be sent full details of any transport available, with pick up/return locations and times given.
By cheque made payable to “Stramash”.
If you do not have a cheque book please contact the office to discuss alternatives.
Payment must be enclosed with the completed consent form.
Do not send cash through the post.
Whilst being fantastic value for money we realise that it can be difficult to pay for the residential courses in one go. We therefore allow payment for the more expensive courses to be paid in instalments. If you would find this helpful, please contact the Stramash office on 01631 572194 and we will be happy to help. If you would genuinely struggle to pay the cost of any of our courses, even by instalments, please contact us to discuss ways we could help.
